Multi-Ethnic Sports and Cultures NI (MSCNI) present a digital storytelling video of how the organisation brings young people of various community backgrounds together and uses sports as a medium to help unite irrespective of their race, colour, sex or origin.

Sean Lester lived through a tumultuous period in the history of Ireland, which shaped his political outlook. His story is one that opens up questions about complex political identities which continue to have an impact today. Addressing issues around co-operation and inclusion, ultimately Lester’s story is a positive one of perseverance and hope. Early Years Members join Good Relations Week 2020 Celebrations – Jolly Rodgers Day Nursery

Early years practitioners, children and parents from Jolly Rodgers Day Nursery in Lisburn, recently benefited from the engagement in the evidence-based Media Initiative for Children (MIFC) Respecting Difference Programme.

This was delivered by Early Years – the organisation for young children and funded through the Community Relations Council, who aim to promote a peaceful and shared society based on reconciliation and mutual trust.

“The Year We Bide At Hame” Documentary

‘The Year We Bide At Hame’ is an insight into the Orange Order in Strabane District and its reaction to the implications of Covid-19. This documentary gives people an understanding of the invaluable charity work the Order carries out in their communities.

The documentary was screened on the Bready and District Ulster Scots Facebook page

Celebrating Communities- A Short Film

The Triax Social Economy Project presents a short video ‘Celebrating Communities’ that highlights the shared experiences of residents from both the CNR and PUL communities growing up within the Triax area. The video gives an insight into how attitudes have changed over time with residents from both sides of the Peace Wall coming together to embrace each other’s cultures.

This film was shown online via the Triax Neighbourhood Management Facebook and Twitter pages.

BAME within the City: A Short Film

The  Peace Walls Project hosted a short online film based on pre-recorded interviews with BAME residents in Derry~Londonderry.

The Bogside/Brandywell Initiative (BBI) and the Peace Walls project have a wide variety of BAME groups and networks (Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Syrian, Bangladeshi, Japanese, African and Polish) and have been a key organisation in BAME engagement in the last few years through Mela events and cultural workshops.

Around the World in 5 Nights

Clanmil Housing presents a series of Bedtime Stories every night at 7pm throughout Good Relations Week by storyteller Liz Weir and guests.

Each story comes from a different country and will be told in English and that country’s native language. Enjoy learning about different cultures around the world and have a lovely night’s sleep!
