The enchanting Irish animation SONG OF THE SEA tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse – the last Seal-child – who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land. SONG OF THE SEA, directed by Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells) features the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, David Rawle, Lisa Hannigan, Pat Shortt and Jon Kenny.

Cultural Awareness Training

This training is for Northern Trust staff group and aims to give participants an insight into what cultural diversity is, why cultural awareness is important, things to consider when working with individuals from other cultures and potential areas for misunderstanding. Participants will gain knowledge and skills required to work effectively with a diverse range of service users and to develop their cultural competency. This training should positively contribute towards the sense of togetherness encouraged by Good Relations week 2023.

African Drumming and Storytelling

If you’ve ever wanted to make a racket in a library now is your chance.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council in partnership with Libraries NI invite you to come along to our African Drumming and Storytelling event at Antrim Library.

Come along, make some noise and hear some African themed stories. Suitable for all age groups, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Let’s Connect Championships

We are thrilled to invite you to the Let’s Connect Championships. A 5-A-Side Football Tournament organised as part of Good Relations Week at the Valley Leisure Centre.

The tournament aims to promote social inclusion, integration, and wellbeing, bringing together asylum seekers, newcomers, community, voluntary and statutory organisations, and Council staff to unite through the spirit of sports and camaraderie.

Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to celebrate unity, diversity, and community through the power of football. Registration is free. Numbers are limited.

Lunch will be provided at the end of the tournament.
